Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Programs

Since the year 2000, restaurants have participated in the Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program (GFRAP). GIG provided education manuals, training materials, consultation and menu reviews. Over 1600 restaurants participated in the program.  This program is now in a transition process.

During 2013 GIG will assist GFRAP participants in the transition to one of our other exciting programs:

  • Chef to Plate Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program includes a month-long awareness campaign, during the month of May, internationally celebrated as Celiac Awareness Month. The program will offer support to restaurants on a consultation basis for such services as training and menu reviews. During the year, we will celebrate food services, provide a new restaurant database search feature, and continue to partner with Allergy Eats and Celiac Scene to give restaurants added exposure to gluten-free diners. Learn more about Chef to Plate…

  • Gluten-Free Food Service Management and Training Program – A Certification Program (GFFS) has become the premier program for establishing best practices in gluten-free (and allergen-free) food services, with low or no cost solutions. This program helps food services of all types to set policies and procedures for controlling and providing safe gluten-free meals. This program includes onsite auditing to assure practices are being used on a daily basis. Learn more about GFFS…
