Rudi's Gluten-Free Bakery reformulated it gluten-free bread line to be 'softer and fluffier'. The new line of sandwich breads, including Original, Multigrain, and Cinnamon Raisin, will replace the current versions and they will be available nationally this month.
The breads will be sold frozen and will sell for around $5.99 per loaf. Here’s a look at exactly what has changed with the new gluten-free recipe:
- Softer texture with a longer shelf life on the counter
- Improved taste
- Doubled the fiber content to two grams per serving
- Certified gluten free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO)
- All-natural and clean ingredients
- Non-GMO ingredients
I asked Doug Radi, senior vice president of marketing and sales, how he thought the newly reformulated bread differs from its competitors. Here is his response:
"While we don’t have specific information on competitor's recipes, I can tell you that Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery has worked hard to develop a new bread recipe that has gone through thorough consumer testing to ensure people with celiac disease and a gluten intolerance enjoy the new bread for its flavor, aftertaste, texture, appearance and everyday usability. Our taste test results show participants preferred the new Rudi’s Gluten-Free Sandwich Bread recipe over the top competitor in all categories, and we believe this makes our bread stand out. We know tasting gluten-free products makes all the difference so from mid-December through mid-February, we’re planning to encourage gluten-free enthusiasts to try our new Gluten-Free Sandwich Breads by downloading a $2 coupon on our Facebook page."
Rudi’s Gluten-Free plans to ring in the New Year with its first marketing campaign launching in January 2013 and they will launch additional new products. I sure hope these new products will be at Expo West, so I will be able to try them!
